Advisors present: Jim Franklin, Bill Markley, Tom Fitzgerald, Joy Meredith, Paul Zapala, Nancy Stuart.

Guests: Marie Robertson, Rosemary Smith, Scott Williams.

Minutes
  1. Jim Franklin called the meeting to order at 10:00am.


  2. Jim Franklin gave an update on status with city. ONI approved our neighborhood. A press release will be going out from Cindy Uken. The neighborhood will be approved at Wednesday's council meeting. We are encouraged to attend the meeting.


  3. Terms were selected by drawing. Members selected for two year terms are: Nancy Stuart, Jim Franklin, Joy Meredith. One year terms will be held by: Paul Zapala, Bill Markley, Tom Fitzgerald, Sean Warren.


  4. Election of officers was held. President - Jim Franklin, Vice President - Bill Markley, Treasurer - Tom Fitzgerald, Secretary - Joy Meredith. ONI meeting representatives will be President Jim Franklin and alternate will be Vice President Bill Markley.


  5. President Jim Franklin assumed Chairperson of the meeting.


  6. Minutes from Organizing Meeting December 1, 2007 approved with one change that a vote was taken to choose the name Ruth Hardy Park Neighborhood Organization.


  7. Downey Bank was selected as our bank by unanimous vote. Nancy Stuart will handle all paperwork and forms to get the account open. Any advisory board member (Jim Franklin, Bill Markley, Scott Williams, Joy Meredith, Paul Zapala, Nancy Stuart, Sean Warren) can be a co-signer with the treasurer (Tom Fitzgerald).


  8. There are about 15 new members. Keep undeliverable postcards to prove they were mailed to those addresses.


  9. Expenses pending reimbursement: President Jim Franklin paid $320 for cards and $135 for the P.O. Box. (The City paid the postage). Bill Markley paid $100.45 for 3-year website and $16.38 to transfer website. Motion made by Nancy Stuart, second by Paul Zapala. Passed unanimously.


  10. Discussion about adding Raymond Cree Middle School and other areas not within other neighborhoods.


  11. Vice President Bill Markley updated the group on the website he has created. Contact pages, photos, minutes, calendar will be on site. All Advisors will receive copy of emails.


  12. Event ideas were discussed. 1) March 1 or March 8 picnic at Ruth hardy Park. 2) End of month cocktails and snacks at 'RHP Clubhouse' or possibly Frank Sinatra house. 3) Ruth Hardy Birthday party celebration.


  13. VP Bill Markley reported on ONI meeting. April 12 Garden Walk looking for 2 gardens from our neighborhood. Also birdhouse competition, baking contest, Feb9 retreat for ONI representatives. Issues/complaints to be given to Jim and Bill to go to NIC.


  14. Historic Committee formed. Joy Meredith chair, Sean Warren vice chair.


  15. Membership committee formed. Paul Zapala, chair. Also on committee Jim Franklin, Nancy Stuart, Tom Fitzgerald. New cards will be made showing meeting dates, website.


  16. Future guests: Leslie Cyphers, PSPD Neighborhood Watch, John HardCastle, PS Fire Department.


  17. Meeting adjourned 10:59.
