Advisors present: Jim Franklin, Bill Markley, Tom Fitzgerald, Joy Meredith, Nancy Stuart, Paul Zapala.

Minutes
  1. President Jim Franklin called the meeting to order at 9:00am


  2. Jim Franklin and Bill Markley gave an update on the ONIC meeting, CERT training and City Certificate. Jim and Bill attended the ONIC meeting.
    Each neighborhood gets a small fund of $250.
    Crime stats can be found on pspd.com.
    Petition started by ONI members to get Trader Joe's to open in Palm Springs.
    Neighborhood blade signs were discussed. Generally the name 'Ruth Hardy Park Area' was the favorite. Bill will design a few sign choices. Discussed possible fundraiser for signs. The city can provide $250 towards signs, $25 per sign.
    Bill is taking CERT training.
    March 8 ONI picnic at Ruth Hardy Park.
    April 12 ONI Garden Walk. Two RHPNO gardens needed.
    ONI website has updated events listed.


  3. Minutes from the December 15, 2007 meeting were approved. Two changes were made: guest Scott Williams was noted as an Advisor and Sean Warren was not there. Motion by Tom, seconded by Bill. Passed unanimously.


  4. Financial report was given by Tom Fitzgerald. $525 in bank. Jim is going to ask Dick Mandell (Movie Colony) about their account which holds the money from when both RHPNO and Movie Colony Neighborhood was one group. Jim will also ask Lee Husfeldt about tax returns.


  5. Membership Committee report given by Paul Zapala. Discussed sending a letter rather than a postcard for March 8 event. Press release to be sent regarding meetings to help boost interest in membership. Also discussed 'Associate Member' category.


  6. Spring Social discussion included Jim reporting that the Sinatra house may be as much as $2000 for an event March 29. Nancy suggested we find a sponsor. Some other discussion regarding the Spring Social including prices for attendance; paid members free, located in RHP area $25 includes membership, outside of RHP area $25. Annual meeting will be held 1st week of December.


  7. Historical Committee- No report.


  8. Priorities of the organization were discussed. Membership is number one. It was suggested to email top 5 priorities to the rest of the Advisors.


  9. Bill Markley gave a website update. There is a new forum page. He's doing a great job.


  10. Jim to find out about quorum issues.


  11. The meeting was adjourned at 10:15.
